does anyone out there have a ballpark dollar amount on how much $$ i am looking at to get a 4200 open tiara to michigan from new jersey??? and do you suggest hiring a captain and driving the boat by sea or getting it trailered by road???? thank you
If you hire a captain, your looking at 10 days in the canal alone. Depending upon where in Michigan, it could take a while and that's once everything thaws out up there by Buffalo.
Give brinks trucking in Holland mi a call. They move all of tiaras factory boats and really know their stuff. You would need to strip the hardtop, pull props, shrink wrap and sling onto trailer but my guess is it will be cheaper than running on its own bottom. It's probably a good 400 miles just from Detroit to luddington by water. By the time you pay fuel, captain, marina charges, food, wear and tear it's going to add up. Throw in a mechanical and the price just went even higher. misdirection is probably close. I would have guessed $10-12k trucking
