I have a 38 Open and want to mount some rod storage racks to my hard top. Has anyone done this and did you use toggle bolts or molly's to hold the screws in?
The cruising Hard Top is hollow and you may be able to use short toggles or mollys. The TTS Hard Top is thinner and foam cored (no hollow space), so you likely will have to use caulk and screws - make sure the caulk is fully dry before you put weight on it.
That top is thicker than I thought. I was able to mount the rod holders right into the fiberglass and the screws had plenty of fiberglass to hold them.

I know this is an old post but send a pic or two if you can.
