Has anyone had an issue with a steering actuator overload? If so, is it a simple fix or in-depth? Thank you

IPS as in Volvo Penta’s IPS (pod) systems?!...
I’m currently dealing with an issue on one of those... It’s a VP IPS600 (VP D6 435 hp) system. The pod is turned electrically on those. The steering motor itself is fine but the “integrated” ECU (Electronic Control Unit) has developed an issue...
VP’s solution? Replace the motor with a new one. Parts are going to be somewhere around 8k
