I need to replace my courtesy lights on both the starboard and port sides up by the helm. I'd like to change to LED bulbs. Id like to just replace the bulbs but the exterior housing will not stay fastened. I will have to replace the entire housing. Does anyone have any experience with this and if so what lights did you choose or would recommend.
Why not install LED's and then glue the housing back together? The LED's should last the life of the boat.
Put some Corrosion Block on the terminals first. Capt. George

I removed the original lights and opened up a can of worms. The wire gage connected to the original lights is thick. The LED lights have a very thin gage wire so finding the proper connectors proved to be difficult. then the screws were smaller then what had been used to hold the original lights in place. I had to use a resin to fill the holes then pilot drill and send new screws home. Not fun! I wish I had taken your advise.

It all worked out perfect and looks great! I also replaced the rear courtesy lights under the gunwale. I just replaced the bulbs here no need to replace the whole housing. I'd love to post pictures if I could
