Looking at 2005. Any known/perceived drawbacks?

I've owned my 2003 38 Open for more than 10 years and have been quite pleased with its performance... Great sea boat, Great cruising boat for 2... Wife loves the size of the head/shower.... We dock on the north shore of Long Island and have traveled many times as far east as Boston, Gloucester, Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard; South down to the Chesapeake, and north up the Hudson to Lake Champlain & Montreal CA... Most trips have been 20+ days.. Boat does everything we need.. Also fish the boat, inshore, at Montauk... Cruises easily at 23kts @ 2100. Fuel burn is approx. 26-28 GPH... M2c

I own a 2005 38 Open with cummins 480ce's and agree with everything ReelMagic has pointed out. We do our cruising in the great lakes and find the room and ride fantastic. We cruise at 30 mph and get a mile a gallon. This is better than the 35 Open I had with has power. Go for it is great boat. We love ours. Good Luck Tom

We have a 38 Open '01. 450 Cummins. Put in a entire new Garmin nav system 12" screens, find a good rig, and don't be afraid to put a few bucks into it. You cant go wrong with Tiara. Also they have a awesome parts dept, at Tiara HQ in Holland Michigan. I have them on speed dial. 35' is an amazing ride. Good luck
