I have a 2006 36 Sovran with Cummins QSC Diesel engines...great boat. My mechanic is recommending that I replace the engine raw water hoses because they are starting to crack. There are two I could use, silicon and what is on the boat now. He is recommending silicon because they last longer but they are twice the price. We boat in Lake Erie and the other Great Lakes
The labor will be the same. Go with the silicone. The silicone hoses come in different colors so you get lots of engine room eyewash if you plan on selling. How much is a new engine if it blows up because of a cheap hose? Capt. George
