Painting Thru Hulls
#1
I would love to change out all of the plastic thru hulls but I have too many projects already going for this season. So I want to paint the existing plastic ones. Has anyone painted them? If so what paint did you use and how long did it last?

I had my hull painted ice blue with dark blue stripes awl grip and they painted the thru hulls as well about 8years ago, still holding up well.

Awlgrip definitely. Can be brushed if you purchase appropriate converter and reduced, or sprayed. Fresh white (F8220) is the custom color match for 1999 and newer Tiara Open painted components (arches and metal windshield frames) and should be very close to white hull sides. To order you would need to find an Awlgrip awlmix retailer (plenty on the web) or just get a color card andfind a close match. Super Jer Black is a perfect match for thru hulls that go thru black boot stripe. If you have colored hull sides maybe ask Tiara to provide Awlgrip color code.

I did all my thru hulls (plastic and bronze) and it came out perfect. Make sure you read application instructions and wear proper respirator with new organic vapor filters. Good luck.

Thanks - All of the thru hulls are in the boot stripe. So jet black will do it.

FYI….. Tiara painted components are F8220 Awlcraft Fresh White. I had to repair my arch years ago and called Tiara to get the exact color match. Yes, it matched as well. Arches are painted with AWLCRAFT not Awlgrip.
