Hello all
My 31 with Volvo TAMD's has a Sturdy Syncro installed on top of the waste tank on the port side. It has never worked however I know power is going to the unit. I know this because when I turn the unit on the port throttle (slave) drops out however it does not follow the master (STBD). My feelings is that it is not receiving the signal from the STBD motor so it assumes there is none and tries to match it. My questions are as follows before I really dig into it:
I can follow the wires to the helm however from there I cant see them. Where do they tap off of to get the signals from the sine generator? There is only one set of wires on the sine genny that I assume go to the tac's. Not sure If I have a bad splice or something like that?
What kind of voltage should I be getting off of the sine genny to the tac's or to the syncro. I was told around 8 volts for full RPM. I dont have the model number right now but should have soon. I want to see if I am getting the volts to the terminal board on the Syncro.
Thanks
Tom
