I recently purchased a 1996 3700 Open, looking to replace the anchor and rode. Boat weighs 22K. Located in Northeast and mostly anchoring in Block Island, Long Island, Vineyard, etc. I’m going in circles as to which anchor is the best. Narrowed it down to 44lb Rocha Vulcan or save some bucks with a similar weight Lewmar Delta. Any suggestions?
I can't help you with an anchor type where you'll be boating, but I will suggest making sure you have at least twice your boat length in chain. I personally have 150' of chain and have never had a problem setting or holding anchor in anything I tried anchoring in. It really adds weight to help the anchor set and hold.
