Our macerator is always off and I’ve never used it (Chesapeake Bay). A few minutes ago I was cleaning out the AC strainer and with my head right next to it, and it cycled like 4-5 times. I double checked the breaker was off (it was). Any thoughts as to why it would cycle like that?
Is there a float switch anywhere for it? I am assuming you mean the black water maceration system? If so there should be no way for it to run with the breaker off.
A macerator pump (like what was running) wouldn’t have anything to do with my grey water tank, would it? I thought that only used traditional bilge pumps.
What type of pump was it. Most gray and black water pumps are maceration pumps (especially black water). On my old 41 the gray water had a tank with two of the large T Series discharge pumps while the black water tank used one.
On a different boat it used the shurflo maceration pump.
I know my gray water pumps worked off a float switch in the holding tank while every boat I have owned had a dedicated breaker for the black water pump.
