Spare Props
#1
I have 2006 36 Sovran with Cummins QSCs. I am planning on buying a spare set of props. Any suggestion as to where and how to mount them.

I have not been on a 36 Sovran in a while, but I seem to remember a bit of space in the engine room either on the outboard side of the engines or aft behind the engines. If you want to get fancy, you permanently mount a stud and mounting plate. Then simply drop the props on the stud with a washer and nut and tighten them down. The less complicated way would be to mount a thin piece of starboard with tie-downs. The starboard will keep the props from digging into the fiberglass. The other option is to wrap the props in carpet and tie them down.

What you don't want are props shifting around and damaging components or the hull itself.
