Hey there - i have a 1995 Tiara 36 Open - and the main DC breaker has given up. Any advice on what part i should replace it with? I'm not sure what amperage switch to buy.

I think you mean main DC switch not breaker? Best bet would be replace with the same switch. Everything will line up and it worked for along time!

If you mean breaker...Turn your battery switches off and pull the breaker out of the panel. It should have the amperage stamped or printed on the back of it. I buy all my breakers from West Marine and the new ones show the amperage on the front and the back.

Pulling the breaker to read the rating stamped on the back is really the only reliable way to settle the amperage question, since the correct value depends on the original wiring and load rather than guesswork. If it is actually a battery switch, matching the existing mounting pattern and terminal layout makes the swap much simpler. Either way, photograph the old part and note any markings before ordering, so the replacement matches what was there originally.
