First Season with my 1982 Tiara Pusuit 3100 and I am now a loyal fan. Would like to upgrade the windshield wipers. Presently have single speed which is not the problem but the motor only accepts a 14" arm with a hook and loop blade which flops and does not clean - new blades did not fix it. Would like to go with a longer arm and longer blade to clean more of the windshield. The motor has been replaced but it was matched with original and it will not accept a bigger arm or blade, it does not use the knurled knob, it is bolted on. Any Suggestions???

I just sold my '88 31 Open and the AFI Marinco wipers were still working . And yes, I did put on a longer blade.
Moved up to a '88 36 Convertible. Capt. George

I just replaced the wiper unit on my '82 2500. Don't know the 31 well enough to know whether my solution will work for you, but mine is mounted with a standard 3-bolt pattern. Got it at West Marine for $70. Best part is the wiper arm shaft is 2-piece, so the length is adjustable. Blade is fairly short, but works perfectly for the starboard pane of my three-piece windshield. I don't know whether longer blades are available, but you could check with them. Good luck!
