Generator auto shut down.
#1
Feel really dumb asking this question...I am the new owner of a 33 Open with a Kohler 5KW generator. It worked perfectly during the survey. I didn't use it for first 4 or 5 weeks, and when I did it started fine, but the auto shut down kicked in a couple of minutes into running. All the seacocks are open and it appears to function fine for those first few initial minutes of running. Anybody have any suggestions on what I am doing wrong or might be broken?

Assuming the Oil Pressure is OK I suspect you need to replace teh raw water impeller... The unit will shut down after a few minutes if it doesn't sense water flow to cool the engine/heat ex-changer... M2C
