Good discussion as this certainly helps me too. I’m all over the place with trying to decide which boat to step up to. I began with the 3100 Open and was convinced that was the one! Then I shifted to the 3500 Open, thinking it will afford much more room, thus allowing me to keep it longer. Not feeling like I need to “move up” quite as fast. While cruising last night with my wife in our humble 24 foot cc, I pointed out a 3500. Her response: “ that is way too big.”  Back to the drawing board. I love the look of the 3200 and think it’s the perfect compromise. Is there price really that justified, however.  Really cannot stomach spending close to 200K!

Thanks for your response. I’ve really heard nothing negative about the boat and the more I think about it, the 3500 open may just be too much boat. What are your typical cruise power settings and fuel burns if you don’t mind me asking? Most of our trips will be day cruises with very little fishing, with a few overnights down to Boston Harbor, the Island and Maine. Would you agree with the assessment that the annual cost/upkeep of this type of boat is around 10% of the purchase price?
