Do you get discharge water flow when the compressor is on ? If there is no water flow and the lines and strainer are clear you may be airlocked. I had similar issues with my last 43 open. Occasionally had to crack open the top of strainer until water would flow out the top. AC pumps create only minimal suction which is why they need to be mounted below water line.
