On our 99 4000 Express, I find myself almost always thinking, “wow, Tiara thought of everything.” That is, except for the placement of the AC strainer under the floor in the trunk. Especially when it’s jellyfish season, having to tear apart the trunk and hang upside down is a total pain, so I’ve been considering moving it to the engine room.
You think I could leave the thru-hull and pump and just extend the hoses and move the strainer into the engine room? I know that would make a kind of lengthy run to and from the strainer but would obviously be the path of least resistance. If I did this, I’d probably have to add an inline valve just before the strainer so I could close off the supply from the thru-hull in the engine room.
Thoughts?
