Generator Sound/Vibration Isolators
#1
During the annual oil change on my Onan 9kw MDKWB, I decided the sound box needed repainting. “While I’m at it…” (my famous last words), I’m going to replace the sound reading material inside the box but also got to wondering about installing some isolators under the GenSet. It’s currently just bolted to the engine room floor with nothing but a piece of plywood between it and the deck. Wondering if I could lower the sound/vibration profile a bit by getting something in between the generator and the floor.

Anyone do this? What did you use? Was it worth it? Was it any more difficult than unbolting, lifting a few inches, and installing?
