If your 98 is like my 99, it is not plywood, but individual pieces of teak and holly laid like a traditional hardwood floor. My advice would be to get a flooring company to take a look at it. If the wood is just discolored but solid, they have some products (I know Benjamin Moore makes one) and methods that can handle discoloration. Conversely, if there is actual damage, they’ll have the skill to blend new/old almost seemlessly.
The last thing you want to do is get into replacing it all. Doing you entire cabin in the same material that’s in there now would probably cost north of $10k. There are other options for replacement (check out Amtico) but it would be a real shame to lose all that beautiful teak and holly if there’s any chance it could be repaired.
Also, where is the damage? You said AC unit, so I’m presuming it’s the midship one under the settee? Did it damage the main part of the sole or that step-up under the table? If the latter, is there a way you can just focus on the step-up and leave the main part of the sole alone?
