4000 Express-Hatch & Table hydraulics; Anyone changed the hydraulic oil and filter?
#2
I asked this question when I bought mine a little over a year ago, and here’s the process I got back:

1. To do this, all hydraulics have to be closed, but you have to be under the laz to do it. So, open the laz, prop the door open, unclip the hydraulic cylinders, and close them.
2. Drain the hydraulic fluid from under the white pump in the trunk.
3. Remove and replace the filter.
4. Refill the pump, actuate everything a few times, and refill as necessary.

The manual says it’s a “self-bleeding system,” so that *should* be it. I didn’t end-up doing this as I got distracted with other things last year, but it’s on my list for this spring.
