They must have seen the problem with the A/C strainer under the starboard engine and updated the design for the 2003 38 Open. Mine is under the big fish well in the cockpit. Getting the fish well out requires 2 people however but easy to live with... Once removed access to A/C strainer & thru hull is easy.
