Tiara Open New owner of a 3100 Open

I am getting a Solix fishfinder to link all my cannon down-riggers, have the down-riggers, debating on the Solix size, if Garmin would link with the down-riggers I would stick with the two new Garmins the boat came with.

The survey suggested sealing fittings and I have read where Tiara went cheap on some thru hull fittings, accurate?

Boat is older and someone used mild steel for some replacement bolts, so they go, its in heated storage and I was thinking about methodically removing screws/bolts on the deck and rub rails then over drilling the hole fill said the hole with epoxy, then drill the correct size hole and put the screws back in with 3M 5400 sealant. That way they are fixed and I won't be chasing down loose stuff, as much.

Fridge was the original one, didn't seal and was frozen over so I am getting a new one, anyone got suggestions on brand?

I also am debating removing the swim platform to facilitate easier access to caught fish, thoughts?

Hey…welcome to retirement!

I have a 3100 with 4 walker downriggers.
They are mounted so that there is no interference when not deployed and when deployed 2 are off side nonskid and two are on rear. (Evenly spaced when deployed-16 ft total spread/4 ft separation).

I also have a swim platform which I like for fishing…just make sure downrigger length will clear during deployment.  Swim platforms also add an anti CO measure for the deck and helm.  This is a cosmetic call…I have seen both and like each.  Regardless get a CO monitor at your helm.

Any thru hull/thru non skid holes should be drilled and then glassed+carbisol..  Then drill hole and mount with 5200.

Thru bolt integrity I have no experience or issues so far.  If a visual inspection shows potential issues you may want to get a thermal camera with good resolution for hull water intrusion inspection.

The fridge is a sore spot of mine.  They cost around 1200 and can fit 6 beers/two burgers/3 carrots (…=small).  I have a dorm type fridge/freezer in mine that is functional but fit finish is a C-.  I am considering a custom 12 Volt freezer box.

Good luck to you!!
