Market perception plays a key role. Look at prices of used boats. The identical boat with and without IPS has a pretty large price difference and the IPS boat sets in the market much longer as well.

I know when I was looking for my last 3 larger boats I totally eliminated the IPS boats from my search. Strictly due to things I had read over the years and the tough resell potential.
