The Mantas anchor is far superior to other anchors. I have run the Abacos many times and when I meet the cruisers over there they are big into their anchoring system. Most I have spoken with do nothing but rave about the Mantis.
An all chain rode is preferred. The chain allows a shorter scope for most times and gives a better set with no fear of chafing on anything. Make sure you put in a shock/snubber line from a cleat to give it some stretch. Chain doesn't stretch and will cause all sorts of problems in a heavy wind or sea.
