Usually the arms flip up and stay up under spring tension. Then there is a tab under the arm that must be lifted away from the motor end of the shaft while pulling the arm assembly off the splined shaft. Some twisting and rocking will help. A little penetrating oil might also help if you cover the windshield with a plastic bag. In the worst case, drill a hole in the cap and spray some penetrating oil in there. It looks daunting but I have always gotten them off. Capt. George
