We brought the new boat home over the weekend. Glad we waited a day for weather conditions to improve. Moving the boat in snow, 34 degrees and winds blowing 20 plus in Straits of Georgia would not have been fun. As it was we had to clear about 4 inches of snow off the boat on Sat morning but Weather improved, calm winds, 40 degrees and misting. We planned on leaving the marina before 10am but the fuel dock attendant was late to work so we didn't get out until 11am. Ran 77 miles to clear customs in Anacortes, WA, in just under 3hrs. The twin 502's ran perfectly cruising at 24mph at 3,000 RPMs. We topped off the tanks at 70 gals and kept moving. Being Saturday was the shortest day of the year we knew we couldn't make it all the way home and we pulled in at dark into Everett. Made the final 30 miles this morning. Spent the rest of the day cleaning the boat and getting the previously owners stuff off the boat. What a great boat!
Now we get to fix a couple of small issues, diesel heater doesn't work. Compass needs replacing, hydraulic leak on the seating lift pistons. In the coming months I'll do all the annual maintenance on the merc's. Oil changes, spark plugs, water pumps, fuel filters to name a few. Really excited to learn all the new systems.
