I went through the same thing and ended up with the 29. In my case the 29 had 1/2 the hours of the 31.
11 years and 1100 hours later I still don't regret the decision. It was the right one for me, but you really can't go wrong with either one.
I'm shocked about the bow thruster in the 29 however. I see no need for one unless you deal with a strong current on 1 engine.
