You did not say what year your 31 is or what model engines you have. I could replace the impeller in my '88 port 454 engine in less than 1 hour. The starboard engine is another story. Overheating can be an impeller, a thermostat, a plugged heat exchanger (oil or engine), the sea strainer or the intake screen. Change the impeller first and rerun your test. If that does not solve your problem it's time for a marine pro. Capt. George
