I am currently undergoing more extensive repairs to my bow because of a poorly installed anchor locker drain. My problem covered about 18 square feet on starboard side and 9 square feet on port side.

You didn't mention how you determined the size of the area and the level of moisture present. It could be there are other ways to dry it out but, the help of a professional will help limit damages.
