We are trying to decide what davits to use on our 42 Open.  I am getting pricing on a freedom lift however given its $20k+ cost, am not sure its worth it.  I do have the Nautley Davits (dinghyramp XL) from our Sovran, but am concerned that they won't hold the dinghy up high enough.  Has anyone had experience with either on the 42?  If going with the Nautley or similar (hurley etc), does the dinghy sit high enough that there are no issues getting on/coming off plane and in varying seas etc?  Also, if we go with this option, are you able to leave the motor down with it hanging just out past the swim platform?  Our dinghy is a 10' Walker Bay hard bottom with a 15hp outboard.

Hi Max.  We had a Freedom Lift installed on our 3900 Sovran.  I know you have a different stern/swim platform configuration, but I'm seeing it on Friday and would be happy to take picts since it is still out of the water.   It is paired with an 11' Capelli center console with a 20 hp motor.
