Transmission fluid check
#1
I have a 2005 3200 Open with Volvo D6 power
My question is, does the engine need to be running when I check the transmission fluid level ?
Thank you.

I'n not sure w/Volvo diesels but with my 6CTA Cummins w/ZF transmissions the fluid is checked right after running. This to ensure the transmissions are warmed up and the fluid is still in the system and it has not drained back into the transmission pan. M2C

Start engine for couple of minutes. Stop engine. Remove dipstick. Insert, but don’t screw in. Check fluid level.
