Radar Pedestal Pitch
#1
My 41 Open has a pedestal that is flat with no pitch to accommodate the boat angle while on plane. I am going to make a wedge to make up for this as the radar isn't picking up much towards the front while running.

Does anyone know what the degree of angle should be? I know I can measure the angle while on plane but won't be back to the boat for a few weeks and wanted to get it made before I go back.

I do not know the running pitch of your 41 but would guess between 3-5 degrees to be a good staring point.

I was on the Tiara site looking at the specs for the new 43 open. Holy crap that thing fly's. My 41 cruises at 21mph and tops out around 28. The new ones do 41mph. It shows the hull at 21mph is holding around 5.9 degrees but once it gets a little faster it levels at 3 degrees. Not sure if they have redesigned the running surface to accommodate the faster speeds but I am probably going to wedge it around 4 degrees. That will probably get me pretty close.

let us know how you make out.

Yes that 43 is an amazing ride. I know someone who went for a factory ride in one of those when Lake Michigan was all churned up. 30MPH in +5' slop and hardly felt anything. Tiara seems to get the Opens better and better.
