110 Outlets
#1
I just bought a beautiful 1979 2500 Vacationer and am curious if they originally came with 110 outlets or if this was something the previous owner added on. So far I haven't seen any sign of a DC to AC converter or shore power connector on the boat. If they are in fact an add on then the previous owner went nuts with them. There are four aft on either side, two by the throttle, two that the fridge and stove plug into, and two in the cabin.  I've tried plugging something into one of the outlets with the engine running and don't seem to be getting power to the outlets.

Use a meter and see what the voltage, if any, is coming out. I have seen a few people use them for 12volt stuff like deep drop reels and electric down riggers.

After some further digging it looks like the outlets onboard are only live when shore power is connected. It took some digging but there is in fact a shore power connection on the underside of the starboard side gunnel.  Now we have a nice inverter generator for the boat that we can take when camping and be able to power the fridge and TV by plugging the generator into the shore power connection.
