I am doing an in frame engine overhaul and need to raise the helm floor to access the engine. I removed all the screws, bolts and furniture and the deck it's ready to raise. I plan to use (4) eyebolts at each of the corners and build a A-Frame/gantry to raise it. Has anyone done this before or do you have a better idea?
I had a 43 Open which is similar. I guess you could try to lift the floor from the ER with some jacks, then maybe brace the floor with some 4x4's while work is under way. Only other option I can think of is to get a forklift in there and remove the whole floor section. My boats PO had to pull an engine and obviously the floor had to come all the way out.
I'm surprised the floor has to be raised to do an in-frame. Tiara didn't leave enough room to pull the head?

a question to 43 owner. Did any of you ever pull out the "L" shaped aft seating to allow for open aft area?

I removed the furniture and lid to pull the engine for a complete out of boat overhaul. Freaking Cat 3126B's!

I have to machine the #1 cylinder and they need 3' clearance. I'm having the yard forklift the lid out.
Thanks for the response.
