Dock partner and I are struggling to figure out how to remove port oil filter from a 1995 40 express with Cummins. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
On my 41 open the filters were also moved to the otherside of the engine.
Sounds to me like you need to buy the kit and get a small skinny guy to go back there and install it.
Or is the problem actual removal (and not location)? If so, recommend eating up the engine well first and using a strap wrench of someone put them on too tight.

Ordered the remote kit, seems like it might be easier to install than reinstalling the filter due to its size. The proper size oil filter wrench worked well on the starboard side to loosen but seems difficult to reach and not spill on the port. I'll follow up on this thread with the remote installation. Thanks everyone!
