    Closing Monday on a 3200 Open and very excited. Doesn’t have the tower and might add but likely won’t. Needs some rod holders and riggers but will take the winter to figure them out. Any advice on those already fabbed to specific arch would be well appreciated.  Mostly ICW and ocean fishing out of Southport NC area.

So far so good. All closed fine and previous owner was great and left many things on the boat I didn’t expect (they are downsizing so don’t need). Was able to use the last few days to move it to its new slip and home and all worked fine. The longer run than the sea trial gave me a lot more time to notice some nuances I hadn’t picked up on or found in the survey, but nothing at all major. Just those few quirks that will drive you crazy every time you see them. But the ride is great and family loves it so no complaints. Now on the other forum areas to post questions on the projects I am considering. The 32 is a great boat.

Thanks for all of the kind words. Loving the boat so far, except for all of the hatches leak! Any advice on where to find new stripping, what to use, and approaches on that front would be wonderful. It is gonna drive me crazy. I haven't attacked it yet but it is now number one on the priority list, along with installation of a VHF radio that was removed. I think that I found the coax behind the console but stay tuned.

First step is to figure out where they're leaking. Common spots would be through the handles or getting by the perimeter gasket. Contact Tiara with your hull number to find out exactly what hatches are in your boat in order to find the correct replacement parts.

Sometimes adjusting the handles so that the gasket is squeezed more can solve leaking issues.

Sometimes the gaskets can be brought back to life by rubbing the sealing surface with a scotchbrite pad. Also make sure the mating surface for the gasket is clean.

Thanks for the ideas.  I have already contacted a few and think that I have found the right gaskets (it isn't the handle and I have adjusted the depth of the glass and closures already).  They are original and leaking in a few places.  Are there any shortcut instructions anyone has posted on installing the new gaskets?  IE, do you use Dow 795 silicone behind the gasket to the glazing surface and that process?  I know that you don't clean them with windex, but any other tips would be great.

Thank you for the offer. I actually found the gaskets and got them replaced and seems to be working much better now. Also got the VHF installed and foot switch replaced. Definitely keeping me busy.
