I have a 91 tiara express 36. I blew a main fuse type non and when I pulled it it was a 50 amp. Shouldn't it be a 30 amp? This is the fuse located where the shore line enter the boat.

Mine was the same. Surveyor recommended to change to 30 A, just as you say.

Fuses and circuit breakers are sized to the wire downstream of the power source. If you check you will probably find the lines from your fuses to your circuit breaker panel are #8 AWG stranded. This would take a 50 amp fuse. Circuit breakers on your panel then feed #12 or #14AWG wires to your AC equipment and you have 20 and 15 amp breakers. My 36' is wired this way and I will keep the 50 amp fuses. The dockside power cord is #10 AWG and is protected by a 30 amp breaker on the dock. Hope this explains it. Capt.
