        I recently purchased a 33 tiara open and it came with a Maxwell VC 800 windless/capstan mounted on the pulpit with the rope locker located behind.   The previous owner has about 50 feet of chain attached to the rope.  Unfortunately the smooth capstan gypsy is not made for chain and I am looking for a reasonable alternative.  I want to keep the chain.  Can someone who has solved this issue help?

I have a good windless that I can't say enough good things about. I have had it for over 10 years without any issue. I have 25' of chain and 500' of rope. I'm sure you can go with all chain if you wanted to.
