My guess is you have a GFI outlet somewhere (maybe the head or galley ) that is tripped and needs to be reset. Maybe you have an electrical leakage that is tripping the GFI. Just a guess, I don't own a 29 Tiara. Capt. George

Capt. George is correct, it may be the GFI.

Your electrical outlets are on breakers on your main 110V panel, you also have GFI breakers for each zone. The GFIs are most likely not in the electrical outlets themselves. Tiara usually installs a dedicated GFI breaker for each zone. The 29 likely only has two zones (Cabin & Cockpit). Larger Tiaras will have more zones. The GFI breakers on a 29 are most likely installed below the cabin steps. It looks like an electrical outlet, but just has the two small buttons (test & reset).

Good luck and let us know if this works.

I forgot to comment on the light fixture. Tiara changes their light fixtures and suppliers every few years.

If you can find the manufacturer information on the light, I would do a google search and see if you can locate it that way.

If that doesn't work, you could try Tiara Yachts customer service (have your hull number handy as they cannot access their look up system without a hull number).

Good Luck!

All responses appreciated, however all the breakers under the steps are 12v... i heard a breaker pop when plugging in a heater as the amperage was too great for the outlet. Neither of the 2 outlets in the cabin area have a reset button on them. 1 outlet in head and the other is on the right side of the galley counter. Also the back side of the outlets are just the junction boxes they are mounted in. The outlet in the cockpit has a reset button but its on a seperate circuit.Good idea on the light fixture, I think i will try a couple of Tiara dealers and see if they have any misc. parts

Like I said, Tiara usually did not install integrated GFI outlets (the GFI built in to the outlet itself), but installed a seperate GFI reset. The GFI reset looks exactly like an electrical outlet, but it does not have slots to plug anything in (in the center are trip and reset). These are usually hidden in the cabin somewhere. Most of them are black, which makes them hard to see. Tiara usually installed them below the steps, but sometimes they place them below cabin seating or sometimes in the main 110V electrical panel off to the sides, top or bottom. They could be anywhere however. You are going to have to look around. They could be in the hanging locker, below the galley cabinets or under the dinette seating. One other thing I would check is the outlet where the Microwave plugs in. They may have used an integrated GFI for this outlet, which may be the one.

Good Luck!

Sincerely,

The reset on our 2003 31 is behind one of the dinette cushions. Do you have the wiring schematic for the boat?

Good luck on the search

So finally after a couple weeks my wife was cleaning the dinette cushions and found the reset button for the salon GFI outlets under the backrest that swings up when converting to a sleeper....My next project is to find out why I have a gasoline fume smell coming from the gas vents on the side of the hull. Its not constant but seems a little strong at times, not sure if this is normal or not. Most of the boats I have owned previously only had 1 fuel vent, maybe the fact that there is 2 makes a difference....any thoughts?????? Also just changed all the cabin lights to LED including the 2 V Berth lights that were from Cantalupi. Hella makes an LED reading light that is almost identical to the original Cantalupi but a little more modern and it uses the same base so installation is easy and the new lights don't get hot and wont blind you if you look into them, not to mention they draw very little power. Great upgrade....well worth it!!!!

I believe your 29 has only one fuel tank. 196 gallons if my memory serves me well. I do however believe that Tiara set the tank up with two fills (one port and one starboard) so the vessel can be filled from either side without having to drag the hose across the boat. If this is the case, you should have a vent on each side of the boat for the fuel tank. You will also have two other vents, one for the fresh water tank and one for the holding tank.

It is not unusual during the heat of the day to have fuel vapors emanating from the vents. As the tank heats up, the air inside the tank expands and forces the fumes out of the vents. A full tank will mitigate this as there will be less air to expand inside the tank. The fuel can expand, but not nearly at the rate of the air. This expansion and contraction can lead to water in the fuel (through condensation) if the vessel sits for long periods of time over the hotter and more humid months. Add a fuel additive if you don't operate your vessel at least weekly during the summer.

Good luck!
