Hi all. My 2000 3100's horn consistently leaks black crud down the boat's sides. When I took the hron cover off, I see there is a rubber backing, which I think is deteriorating, and therefore causing dark-colored water streaks, whenever it gets wet.

Has anyone found a solution for this?

I had the same problem with my rod holder liners. Took them out and through them away. you might try making a new gasket or dipping it in a sealer such as varnish. Hope this helps.
