I am experiencing a strange issue. My port hatch actuator stopped moving in the upward direction.
I measure 12volts when the switch is activated down; but only 8v when going up. Also the engine room lights come on spontaneously when the hatch is going up (as driven by the starboard actuator since it is the only one installed). The engine room lights do not come on when the hatch is going down though. Interestingly, the engine room lights do not come on when the helm “engine room lights” rocker switch is turned on—activating that rocker switch pops the “engine room light” circuit breaker (below the helm).
What I have done so far:
1. I removed the Hatch Lift 1 actuator and tested it directly with the battery and the motor is good moving both up and down.
2. I tested and swapped the four hatch lift relays. All are good.
3. I checked the helm circuit breaker for hatch lift 1 and it has battery voltage on both sides.
Any thoughts on where the hatch lift and engine room lights wiring might be scrambled?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Dave
