Has anyone tried this product for the back of their tiara? Looks like a no brainer, but then again, the guy who runs it doesn't return emails or calls. Check out the video. [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]

I think a good canvas guy could make that without much of a problem. No need to order from them.

The key is the ultra light material. All it does is block the sun. My canvas guy has no solution. The guy did finally answer the phone. it's VERY expensive for a sun block. Might be better to go under the hardtop and turn on the air.

I've had a couple of these made in the last couple years.

Stainless bows either designed to break in to 4 pieces (for easy fish box storage) or the last one I had made, we used stainless pipe hinges so the bows fold for easy storage.
We use the aft two rod holders so no hardware mounted on the gunnels.
For stabilization, we used one strap on each side to snaps mounted under the rubrail (out of the way and unseen).
The canvas can be made from either Sunbrella (heavy) to sta-moid (light).
The canvas goes to a track on the back of the hardtop and wraps the stainless bow to a zipper.

Very simple design and easy to take down and store. $1,000.00 to $1,500.00 depending on how fancy you get with it.

I just took a better look at the link you posted. That design only works for a bridge style boat. For an express, you will need a complete bow U-shaped. As I said, the last two I have had made either break down or fold into manageable lengths so you can store them easily.

I created my own awning for my 2003 Tiara 38 Open.. Was economical to have fabricated and only requires rod holders to support. There is a ridge pole between the 2 up-right tent poles that give the awning great support. The ridge breaks down into 2 pieces..... Works for me...
