Can anyone explain the plumbing route on the grey water tank in a 37' Open? Looks like all the sinks, shower, etc, drain to the tank which is in the forward part of the engine compartment, instead of directly overboard, and then the gray water tank drains to the holding tank? Any way to route gray water directly overboard? Seems like would need to pump out much more often. I only see one pumpout.
The breaker panel has pop out breakers for gray water pump and gray water pump #2 that look factory. I can find one pump that is on top of the gray water tank but where is the second one? Thought might be shower sump but is another breaker for that.
My Tiara has Pump 1 and Pump 2, they are both part of the freshwater system. Pump 1 is the water pump, and Pump 2 is actually the sol. valve to fill the water tank when you are tied to 'dock water' This is so you do not have to drag a hose and fill the FW tank thru the deck plate. Most Tiara 'gray water' tanks are small packaged 'shower sump pump' units with a pump and tank all contained in one unit.
I think you are talking about two separate pump systems. On my Tiara, the shower and head sink go to a "shower sump" in the mid ship bilge, then to the gray water tank on the forward bulkhead of the engine room. The gray water tank has its own pump which directs the effluent overboard. i never understood the two gray water pump breakers though. Hope this helps.
there are 2 pumps in the gray water tank, 1 is low level the other is a back up. if the 1st one doesn't work the 2nd one will go on and a buzzer will go off to let you know the 1st pump isn't working.
The first gray water pump is on top of the gray water tank, the second is a rule bilge pump inside the tank. On my 3700, the gray water tank does NOT go to the head holding tank, it goes overboard.
Your head sink, shower, floor drain, and cabin A/C condensates all go to the forward bilge sump which pumps to the gray water tank. The galley sink goes overboard. The bridgedeck sink and under seat storage/gear locker drains go to the gray water sump. Gray water goes overboard. I plumbed my bridge enclosure A/C unit condensate drains to the gray water tank as well to reduce the number of thru hulls.
All of this is in the owner's manual. If you don't have one, call Tiara, they will email you one!
