I have a 02 43 open. My refrigerator (Norcorld) quit working. I placed it with the same model. it work good for about 2 days. Quit working. Took it out took back to Wet Marine and they ordered me a new one. They same thing has happen now for three new refrigerators. All replaced by West. What is happening I believe the compressor are thermal out. I have tried to get the heat out from behind the cabinet by opening doors. Has anyone else experienced this problem. I am getting tired of removing them.I have to believe it is a heat problem. the first refrigerator was 16 yrs old. I would appreciate any ideas on how to remove this heat.
Well, kind of hard one really. But I'll input my .02 here. I had an AC (main ac for the boat) compressor that kept kicking out on high thermal. If you know your way around a DMM you can verify what is happening. Unit was brand new and I called Dometic to tell them what I found. After some over the phone troubleshooting, they even had an AC guy come down, I had found out that the thermal cut off switch was kicking out too soon, too low of a temp. It seems that the factory installed the incorrect thermal switch. Dometic sent a new one FedEx, I installed and all has been running for 1.5 yrs now. They also informed me they would now have to determine how many unit went out the door with the wrong switch installed. So it is not out of the question if the unit keeps kicking out on thermal over temp that the wrong temp switch is installed. Take temp readings of the compressor right at the switch and record. Verify the switch is actually kicking out. Etc etc. If your not familiar with these tests it may be difficult as you do have to work on the unit live.
Check all the basics, 110v going to the compressor, 12v if you have that as well, some are switchable.
When you say quit working, what does that exactly mean? If it is kicking out on thermal overload, it would restart automatically as once the switch cools the compressor would start running again.
