Has anyone had problems with non working foot pedals on their windlass? I just replaced the rusted Maxwell solenoid for the 800 Freedom windlass and it works fine from ghe dash control but the foot pedals do not work. I disassembled both pedal switches and found them clean and ak so cleaned the connector on the wiring harness and checked the dash fuse. Is there an in line fuse that is located somewhere elsd that I have missed?
If the foot switches are fused it would be in line between the solenoids (by the motor) and the foot switch. if you have a dvm see if you have +12v on one side of each switch. It may be the feed wire is broken or disconnected (or there is a fuse). If you have 12v on one side try closing the switch and see if you get 12 on the other side. If not the switch needs replacement. not unusual for those switches to go bad.
