Hey Tiaradom
Need help - guidance for an issue on my 98 31 open.
I have a tricky electrical problem. The foil face of the mid bulkhead is hot and conducting a full 12+v. I won't bore any one on how i found this but it is definitely catching a short or ground issues and the entire face is hot when testings with a meter to either engine.
Now I believe that I've isolated the issue to the Port Engine main line. I've removed the entire line (wrapped bundle from engine to the through hole to the helm) form the bulkhead (straps, zip ties, etc.), so i don't think there is a direct short and must be somewhere else. I believe that I've also eliminated the charger, by removing the direct feed from the charger to the battery I still have voltage at the foil. Also eliminated are the only other items on the port wiring diagram connections the bilge pumps, disconnected and still have voltage.
Any ideas or thoughts? Anyone else see this sometime? It may have been this way since I've had the boat, but it's definitely not right.
Thanks in advance!
