No Power to Deck Lights
#1
I have a 4100 Open and the deck lights are not working.  I removed the headliner to access the lights and there's no power to them.  I checked the switch at the helm and it has power.  Is there an in-line fuse somewhere that I'm missing?  Has anyone else had this issue?

Thanks!!!!

I don't think there is a fuse after the switch. I would first make sure there is power on both sides of the switch to rule out a defective switch. Then I'm not sure how it's wired, but your boat probably has a remote control system that turns on the lights with a key fob. I believe it is made by powertouch and possibly defective and interrupting circuit. You may want to check online and see if it is wired in series. If not that then probably in the wiring somewhere. You can check the +12vdc side by connecting the ground direct to battery and the + at the light. Then check the other side by using the ground at the light and battery power. Voltage on only one side may point you towards where to look for a bad connection or break in the wiring. Or for that matter just pull another wire to the dash switch

Send Tiara an email with your HIN andthey will probably send you a PDFs of the wiring schematic. Good luck.

I spoke to Tiara and they didn't' have the wiring schematic.  It doesn't have a remote and there is power at the switch.  I'm hoping I don't have to rewire the lights.  Thanks for the input!

I thought the remote was a standard feature on the 41, 43 and Soverns. Always learning something new here.

Are you on a three way switch where one position turns on the lower courtesy lights and one position turns on both the courtesy lights and hard top lights? If so are the courtesy lights working in both switch directions? Or are they on separate switches?

I own a 2003 38 Open and the lights in the hardtop are connected to a remote manufactured by Touch Tronics (PowerTouch model 914). I would assume Tiara used this system (or something equivalent) on your boat. It was standard.. In any case the unit itself is located behind the steering station...... I've attached a copy of the manual just incase you also have the system and just haven't seen/found it...

The lights on the hard top are the ones I was referring to and I'll check for the remote control box tomorrow.  I recently purchased the boat and I didn't get any remotes.  I'll check and advise.  Thank you!

ReelMagic, that is the unit wired into my boat. Do you know if I can purchase a replacement key fob and sync it to the current system? I left a message for the OEM.

Thanks again. You're the man for Tiaras!

Not sure if you can purchase a replacement key fob..... Let me know if your successful.... Never know when I will need a replacement. So far so good with the 2 I have..... It's a nice feature when returning to the boat in the dark...

I'll let you know. By the way, thanks for the advice on the retractable shore power cord. I located a manual on line and it was a bad $10 switch. I still can't figure out how to get the bow 50 amp cord to work. I suspect there is a switch on the boat to avoid both being hot simultaneously.

Thanks again!

FYI, I have the Power Touch Model 9144 M/1 and they are no longer in production. I'll have to rewire and bypass the control unit.
Thanks for all help.
