K’Has anyone built a boarding ramp to use with a dog when the tide is too high or low to use the swim platform at a marina with fixed piers? To get the dog ashore from the cockpit.
I have a 3100 Open.

Yes, I have 2 of them purchased from Costco online for about $125 CAD each. Best money I have ever spent! This ramp added about 3 1/2 years to the life of one of my Golden Retrievers who had severe osteo arthritis of the hips. The ramp is 6 ft long by 18" wide; it hinges into one piece 3 ft long for easy storage. The surface is made from some plastic type of surface that is very hardy and durable. I am 250 lbs and walk on this ramp regularly- proving just how strong it is. One of my boats is a Wellcraft San Tropaz which is the ultimate dog boat. It has a large door centered on the transom and about 8" above the swim platform. I position one end of the ramp on the dock and place the other end into the doorway opening of the transom. It is very slick! For boats without that door placement, just place the one end of the ramp on the swim platform. I have a good pic of this ramp in use but am unable to attach it to this thread. If you want to see it, email me at jeepstwo@gmail.com I could not be happier with this product. It truly has saved the life of my Alex.
