31 open - teak floor damage

The interior teak floor of my 31 open has some minor damage. The floor appears to be teak veneer. Has anyone had success in refinishing or I am better off cutting out the damaged area and replacing? I appreciate any comments and suggestions.

The teak veneer is very thin. You can't sand off too much without going through to the plywood. What about covering it with solid teak parquet ? It's 1/4" thick and comes in 12" X 12" squares. Capt. George
