I have a 1989 Tiara 3600 Open.
Is it possible to add a grab rail to the top of the window frame so there is more support when going forward?
Can you drill all of the way through, or do you need to use screws?
I have just removed my outer window retaining frames to have them powder coated.... you would be very close to the glass in order to screw into the outer frame...in most cases there are wires routed inside the inner frames ....you might consider taking off the frame retainers and having the grab bars welded to the frames. :flag:
Do not use screws. They will pull out if the rail is actually used in an emergency situation. Welding would be best, but will require stripping the frame where the welding will occur and then repainting afterwards. Thru-bolting would work, but you need to determine what is inside the frame and where the edge of the glass is. As aksmith said, the glass may not leave you enough room to drill through. You will have to do some disassembly to see what you have to work with.
